Description

Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs bring restaurant-quality dinner right to your kitchen with minimal effort and maximum taste. Juicy chicken gets glazed in a sweet and savory sauce that makes your family crowd around the dinner table eager for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Proteins:

  • 4 chicken thighs

Supporting Flavors:

  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 2 green onions

Cooking Essentials:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix ⅓ cup honey, ¼ cup soy sauce, 4 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon grated ginger, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Submerge your 4 chicken thighs completely in this marinade and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove chicken from refrigerator and set aside ¼ cup of marinade for sauce. Transfer reserved liquid to a small saucepan and simmer on medium heat for 5-6 minutes until it reduces and thickens slightly.
  3. Heat your oven to 400F. Warm 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for 6 minutes until skin turns crispy and golden brown.
  4. Carefully flip chicken thighs. Pour remaining marinade over the meat. Transfer skillet directly into preheated 400F oven and roast for 25-30 minutes until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165F.
  5. Remove skillet from oven and let chicken rest for 5 minutes. Drizzle reduced sauce over thighs and sprinkle 2 sliced green onions on top as a fresh garnish.

Notes

  • Give the chicken plenty of time to marinate for maximum flavor absorption and tenderness.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature without overcooking.
  • Pat the chicken thighs dry before searing to help achieve a crispy, golden-brown skin that seals in juices.
  • For a low-carb version, serve over cauliflower rice or roasted vegetables instead of traditional rice.
