Description

Sizzling White Barbecue Chicken brings Southern charm straight to your dinner table with a tangy Alabama-style sauce that makes grilling a total breeze. Creamy mayo, zesty vinegar, and black pepper create a mouthwatering coating your friends and family will absolutely devour.

Ingredients

Scale

Proteins:

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts

Sauce Base:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard

Seasonings:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Whisk 1 cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and 1 teaspoon smoked paprika in a medium bowl until smooth.
  2. Transfer 4 bone-in chicken breasts to a large resealable bag. Pour entire marinade over chicken, massaging to ensure complete coverage. Refrigerate for minimum 1 hour or up to 8 hours.
  3. Heat outdoor grill to 375°F. Clean grates and lightly oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove chicken from refrigerator 30 minutes before grilling. Pat each piece dry with paper towels to help create crispy skin.
  5. Place chicken skin-side down on hot grill. Cook for 8 minutes without moving to develop beautiful golden-brown marks.
  6. Flip chicken and continue grilling another 7-9 minutes. Baste with remaining marinade during last 3 minutes of cooking.
  7. Check internal temperature reaches 165°F using meat thermometer inserted into thickest part of meat.
  8. Transfer grilled chicken to clean platter. Let rest 5 minutes to redistribute juices.
  9. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over chicken just before serving for bright herbal notes.

Notes

  • Marinating overnight intensifies the flavor and helps tenderize the chicken for a more delicious result.
  • Patting the chicken dry before grilling ensures better skin crispiness and helps prevent sticking to the grill grates.
  • For a low-carb version, swap honey with a sugar-free alternative like monk fruit sweetener to keep the tangy white barbecue sauce profile.
  • Check your grill’s hot spots and rotate chicken during cooking to prevent uneven charring and ensure consistent doneness.
